Color: Tecovas Jasper comes in colors ranging from variegated or mottled red, blue, purple, brown, cream, and white with quartz filled vugs commonly present.

Tecovas Jasper is associated with the Triassic Tecovas Formation of the Dockum Group of eastern Caprock Escarpment of the Llano Estacado, primarily found as lenses and boulders near Quitaque, Briscoe County, Texas and throughout Briscoe and  Motley counties, but also found in the northwestern, northern, and eastern edges of the Llano Estacado including the Canadian River Valley.
